While it is difficult to make it into the entertainment business, especially as a late night talk show host, James Corden was able to unlock the doors for overarching success. As much as we can attribute this to his television and comedic persona, his ever-growing popular ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segments have caught the eyes of the public with various A-list celebrities including Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Adele, and most recent the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.

As an English actor, writer, producer, comedian, and now television host, James Corden had show tremendous promise within the entertainment business. With his witty humor and English charm, it was clear to see that there was a future ahead of him. But after assuming the role of talk show host and succeeding Craig Ferguson of the Late Late Show on CBS, it seemed that James had his work cut out for him. Not only did he have the struggle to compete with the other talk show host such as David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Kimmel, but he also had the challenge to win over the fans who, in the beginning, only saw him as a mere swap personality star with a different accent. But with his gravitas and bravado, James was able to prevail. Yes, having a later time slot meant fewer viewers, but with innovative ideas and constant celebrity viewings, the Late Late Show was able to gain its traction within the general public.

Now outside of his humors antics and interviews, what got James on the map was his Carpool Karaoke segment. Like many people, we enjoy singing along to our favorite artist and songs. But what happens when your favorite artist is singing along with his or her own song? With that simple idea, James Corden was able to unleash Pandora’s box where A-list actors and musicians were not only interviewed, but also singing to their favorite (and their own) songs. With my first experience with Carpool Karaoke, I was able to see the pop star sensation, Justin Bieber, sing along to some of classic songs. As much as we enjoyed seeing Justin bop to his own lyrics, the true joy was seeing James take on each rhyme and verse perfectly and flawlessly. From there, James was able to amass a large amount of talent such as Selena Gomez, Red Hot chili Peppers, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Sia, One Direction, Chris Martin, George Michael, Elton John, Carrie Underwood, Steve Wonder, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson, Iggy Azalea, Mariah Carey, and Rod Stewart.

Because of the countless millions of views and wide popularity of the Carpool Karaoke, Apple has revealed to sign a deal with CBS Television studios and the production company of the Late Late Show to turn the karaoke segment into its own series. While there are of course more artists to see jamming in the car with James, all we can say is that we are excited to see the new installments.
